Whether plastic surgery is utilized for health purposes or cosmetic reasons, the after effects are the same for everyone that is pain, swelling, scarring, heightened anxiety and, at times, depression. In some cases, medication may be prescribed for the pain and anxiety. But there are also other options that can help reduce the dosage or length of time of drugs are used, as well as aid in the healing process. Regular massage therapy treatments offer countless health benefits on their own, but are now becoming an effective post-surgical treatment for improving skin tone to boosting circulation. Massage is an effective way to help you manage the pain and stress that you suffer after cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery procedures.
To enhancing general health and wellness, massage therapy can help patients prepare for surgery, as well as ease pain and discomfort during recovery. Some of the massage therapy is performed by licensed massage therapists in our spa-like setting.
- Swedish Massage
- Therapeutic massage
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage
- Reflexology
Massage therapy reduces anxiety and stress
One of the primary benefits of massage is a reduction of stress. Numerous studies over the years have shown that massage therapy increases the levels of endorphins and serotonin in the body, thus reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation. It also reduces certain hormone levels such as cortisol, which is responsible for increased stress.
Massage Therapy for Pain Relief
The use of massage therapy can ease the pain caused by swelling and the muscle tightness caused by the surgery instead of turning to pain medication. Health experts suggest that massage treatments are an incredibly effective way to handle pain, anxiety, and distress following major surgery.
Other benefits of massage therapy after surgery include:
- Improved blood flow
- Improved skin tone
- Deeper sleep
- Reduced symptoms of depression

For today’s advances in laser eye surgery and emerging technologies, having sharp, near-perfect vision for life is a clear choice for many. When considering laser vision correction surgery, you want the best for your eyes you need the best surgeon, the best care before and after treatment, and the best treatment system available is Zyoptix laser eye surgery. It was the first system in Europe and Asia that applied Wavefront technology in laser eye treatment to provide Personalized Vision treatments.
The Zyoptix system is designed by Bausch & Lomb, and the company claims that this system is more precise than the standard Lasik treatment. Zyoptix surgeries report that 91.5% of patients had unaided vision without glasses or contacts and 70.3% of patients had unaided better. This procedure may be more beneficial to you when you want to minimize the risk of complications and common side effects associated with the Lasik surgery.
Zyoptix ideally treats patients who have night vision problem, with naturally large pupils, pre-existing higher order aberrations and nearsightedness and/or astigmatism. Zyoptix offers several benefits for the average, and some of them are:
1. The Zyoptix is an advanced eye surgery procedure that delivers a treatment unique to every individual, taking laser vision correction to a new frontier and more than improving your vision, it can enhance your life.
2. The Zyoptix system can measure aberrations in the eye that are causing vision problems, and generate a three-dimensional map which can then be used as part of the laser correction process to target specific areas.
3. The Zyoptix uses the latest most advanced technology to detect and treat very small vision errors. A recent FDA study, significantly more patients had better quality of night driving vision than patients treated with standard LASIK eye surgery. Zyoptix is like standard LASIK eye treatment, but is fast and virtually painless.
4. The Zyoptix lasers can smooth out the cornea with an innovative ‘dancing light’ laser. This scans the eyes and makes it easier to target the laser in exactly the right area.
5. The Zyoptix laser offers a 30% greater chance vision than standard lasers. This means you can undergo laser eye surgery just once to correct vision problems.

The Titan laser is a non-invasive solution for treating loose skin and offers several benefits. Titan utilizes a safe, infrared spectrum of light that is delivered to the dermis well below the outer skin’s surface. There is no down time and no external injury to the skin. There are no external wounds to care for. A person can return to work right after the cosmetic procedure. It helps stimulate collagen production and can increase the firmness of the skin a few months after treatment. If you’re looking for a simple way to improve skin tone and texture, here’s what you can expect from your Titan treatment.
The procedure can be utilized on a variety of areas including the face, neck and body. The most frequent areas receiving Titan Laser treatment is the facial area, the forehead, neck, cheeks and jowl are the most popular areas. In addition other regions such as the stomach, thighs, and arms can also be effectively treated. The procedure is especially effective in treating the more difficult regions of the body such as the knee and elbows regions.
How the Titan Procedure Works?
The Titan laser can firm up loose skin that is a result of weight loss, aging or pregnancy; Since the laser works by stimulating the formation of new collagen, ideal results will take approximately three to eight months to materialize. While this laser procedure is very effective it does have limitations. Individuals with advanced skin aging coupled with sun damage and excessive wrinkles may not be the best candidates for the Titan laser procedure. Titan laser therapy can be combined with other facial rejuvenation treatments for a complete body or facial makeover. The results of Titan Skin tightening technology may be seen within a few weeks of the treatment, however the full benefits are usually not observed for three to six months. This is probably the most difficult part of this procedure as the effects of the treatment are not seen immediately.
Key Benefits of the Titan Skin Tightening Procedure
- Look years younger
- Treats lax and sagging skin
- Versatile procedure
- Reduce risk of injured fat
- Stimulates long-term collagen growth
- Visible results within weeks
- Is safe, comfortable and non-surgical
- Alternative to liposuction
- No downtime

For many men and women, unwanted hair can be a nightmare. Until now the only options for removing unwanted hair were smelly hair removal creams, sharp razors, stinging wax or painful electrolysis needles and time-consuming, but there is a permanent and painless hair removing option available that is IPL, an advanced approach to beautiful skin, provides the ultimate solution. The IPL process uses intense pulsed light to gently remove unwanted hair, putting an end to routine shaving and waxing and the treatments leave your skin feeling smoother and silkier.
Intense pulsed light therapy treats larger areas such as the back, shoulders, arms, legs and face rather than treating one hair at a time. This treatment is a safe, fast, gentle and effective alternative method for hair removal. The treatment works on most skin types and the total cost of treatment may be far lower than standard hair removal methods. Here’s what you need to know about the IPL laser hair removal procedure:
IPL works equally well on most skin pigmentations without removing any of the pigment for both men and women. IPL hair removal can also safely and effectively eliminate hair of all colors: blond, red, brown, black and even white. With the process, your doctor can gently treat hair in sensitive areas such as the bikini line, stomach, underarms and upper lip, at the same time maintaining a healthy, normal appearance of the surrounding tissue. The IPL laser hair removal device works by emitting a spectrum of light and heat energy directly into the hair follicle, effectively breaking down the hair and slowing down hair growth, as the hair follicle becomes weaker, the hair grows back at a very slow rate and eventually, does not grow back at all.
The benefits of IPL laser hair removal:
- Little or no downtime.
- It works equally well with light or dark hair and skin.
- There is less chance for scarring and pigmentation change.
- Less pain and discomfort compared to other hair removal treatments.
- Combines the speed of shaving with the lasting results by electrolysis.

If you are looking for size reduction through a clinically proven method that requires minimal effort on their part, this article is the one for you. Bader Sultan & Brothers Company, a leading Kuwaiti medical services and supplies company, has announced today the launch of a revolutionary cold laser treatment. This treatment uses a fat reduction technique to help shape the body. The laser is named ZERONA™ which is applied externally and provides results without the dangers associated with surgery.
The high-power, high-heat lasers have been conventionally in various surgical procedures. This new product, Zerona laser, has no thermal effect on the body’s tissue as it produces a low-level, or cold, output. In addition, this non-invasive cold laser helps the body emulsify fat by stimulating biological function. Excess fat is then removed naturally by the body without the negative side effects and downtime associated with more invasive procedures such as liposuction. Patients remain active during the treatment which utilizes the Erchonia.
Steve Shanks, President of Erchonia Medical, praised the product saying, “Our product has undergone extensive research over the last ten years and in 2004 achieved approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use during liposuction. Since 2006 it can be used as a standalone treatment. We know our cold laser can help so many people achieve their goals and contour their bodies with very little effort.”
“I am delighted that my company has signed this agreement with Erchonia Medical and is the first to bring this innovative solution to the Middle East. We are already in the process of establishing relationships with health clinics in the region to make this treatment easily available,” said Mr. Anwar Al Sultan, Chairman of Bader Sultan & Brothers Company. “Dubai Derma is the perfect way to launch the Zerona cold laser here and I am thrilled to have several expert doctors with us to demonstrate the benefits of this solution.”
“This is an amazing medical procedure that will provide relief for so many in our region without the potential hazards associated with invasive surgery and should be considered as an ideal alternative to surgery in select cases,” commented Dr. Ahmed Al Fadli, President of the Kuwait Plastic Surgery Society, Chief of Plastic Surgery in Kuwait, Vice President of the Kuwait Medical Association and the current President of the Pan Arab Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Association. “My clinical trials have demonstrated very positive results so far, with many patients experiencing a 12cms to 20cms reduction in waist and thigh size.”
Dr. Douglas Dedo of the Palm Beach Institute of Cosmetic Surgery and past President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery added: “This revolutionary treatment can work without any kind of surgery or the need for excessive dieting or exercise; though as a doctor I always recommend a healthy lifestyle for my patients. What is also exciting is that clinical studies have revealed that ZERONA™ can help in the treatment of acute and chronic pain relief as well as in controlling cholesterol and triglycerides.”

Hair bumps are a direct result of ingrown hairs and come from several things including: improper shaving, waxing, or tweezing techniques, a dirty barber’s blade, dead skin in the hair follicles, and coarse hair that grows in a tight curl pattern. The hairs grow straight, but at the end they curl back into the same hair follicle. The area becomes ugly and often becomes red in color. Razor bumps are nothing more than an inflammatory response from your body to the infections caused by the ingrown hairs. Bumps should be treated soon, because they tend to grow fast. The more you scratch your ingrown bumps, the more abrasions you will have. This condition is known as Pseudofolliculitis barbae. Here are some tips how to eliminate hair bumps.
Exfoliating: This is one way to treat hair bumps. This will help managing ingrown hair and it would only be possible if you use a face scrub that contains glycolic and salicylic acid. The face brush and liquid cleanser removes the tip of ingrown hair, to remove dead skins cells around the area.
Eliminating Lotion: Another fast and effective way to eliminate hair bumps is a bump eliminating lotion or in the from of serum. Both could be used to apply in the effected areas three times a day, for about a week or more. But avoid the product that contains synthetic preservatives.
Shaving: Wash the targeted area thoroughly with an anti-bacterial cleanser to avoid all the trapped dirt, bacteria, oil and debris. To get an easy, smooth shave, without the risk of hair bumps, avoid pulling of hairs at the time of shaving and use a single-blade razor.
Herbal Products: You can go for herbal products that are especially manufactured for the purpose of eliminating hair bumps, such as solutions that contain tea tree oil, neem, aloe vera and essentials oils of herbs.
Hygiene: Hygiene is the key to get rid of hair bumps. You should clean the shaving kit, every time, before using it. Razors and shaving brushes should be washed at least three times a week. At the same time, rinse the shaving kit after every use. Store it properly, in a shaving kit bag.

It has been the bane of every woman’s existence — the unsightly affliction we all know as cellulite. Many women have it in varying degrees, and unfortunately it appears to get worse with age. There are several ways to fight with and get rid of Cellulite. It is not just a problem affecting obese or overweight women. Average size and even thin women suffer from cellulite as well. It has been surveyed that 85% of all women have cellulite somewhere on their bodies. So to get rid of it, the best way is Cellulite-Laser treatment. The word Laser invokes in our mind a thought of a red hot beam burning our skin in an invasive and painful procedure, that also costs us a fortune but only banishes cellulite for a matter of weeks. But Laser treatment can undoubtedly be effective for a temporary fix. However, technology has developed much since the first laser cellulite cures were introduced. The main cause of cellulite is that the skin stem cells become weakened and lie dormant. The skin has the largest reservoir of stem cells in the human body. After the age of 22, your skin stem cells weaken and become sluggish, regenerating at a much slower pace. As skin regeneration slows, our fat cells become engorged and toxins get trapped creating the embarrassing and unsightly “orange peel” effect on the surface of the skin, also known as cellulite, which is easily curable. Some of the benefits of the use of laser in cellulite treatment includes:
1. Tightens and repairs dammed tissues.
2. It betters the blood circulation of the body.
3. Minimal damage without any burning sensation.
4. Flushes out the toxins and improves system in the area.

Lasers have revolutionized our ability to permanently reduce hair growth in fair-skinned individuals with dark hair. It’s very challenging for a practitioner to perform laser hair removal on someone with dark skin. That’s because the melanin pigment, on the surface of your skin or epidermis, absorbs light. So, before the laser light reaches beneath the epidermis to the real problem area, it is stolen by the melanin. The laser may also injure the skin. So, you must always go for a highly skilled practitioner. The first long-pulsed devices developed for laser hair removal (long-pulsed ruby and Alexandrian lasers) had limited efficacy in dark-skinned patients because the wavelengths were too well absorbed by cutaneous pigment or because the pulse durations were too short to spare epidermal pigment. This resulted in adverse effects like temporary hyper-pigmentation and permanent hypo-pigmentation.
Laser hair removal works best for people with dark hair and light skin. Few people realize that dark-skinned people may absorb too much laser energy into their skin and hence should not opt for this form of treatment as it can result in health problems later. Usually professionals will not even work on tanned skin. One must wait for the tan to fade off before getting such treatments. People with dark hair are easier to treat as dark hair -like dark skin- tends to absorb more laser energy. And coarse, dark hair is best-suited for this treatment. The lighter the color or the texture of the hair, the more difficult and lengthy the process of laser removal becomes. So, if you have dark skin tone with lighter hair, here are some of the instructions you need to follow.
1. Protect the skin’s surface by cooling it before using the laser. This could be done by using a contact cooling method and applying a chilled plate or a spray to your skin.
2. Talk and discuss the full procedure before you go for it. The doctor should be able to satify you that he is using the right laser with the right energy suiting you.
3. Use lasers with the longest wavelength of light. Skin with melanin will absorb short wavelengths, so the doctor needs to use a longer wavelength to get through the epidermis. The skin may still absorb the light, but not to the degree of short wavelengths.
4. Have at least three treatments for the best results. Your practitioner will set up your personal treatment plan. Apply a cold compress after treatment to soothe the bumps or redness that may appear.

Applied scientists at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) in collaboration with researchers from Hamamatsu Photonics in Hamamatsu City, Japan, have demonstrated, for the first time, lasers in which the direction of oscillation of the emitted radiation, known as polarization, can be designed and controlled at will. The innovation opens the door to a wide range of applications in photonics and communications. Harvard University has filed a broad patent on the invention.
“Polarization is one of the key features defining a laser beam. Controlling it represents an important new step towards beam engineering of lasers with unprecedented flexibility, tailored for specific applications,” explains Capasso. “The novelty of our approach is that instead of being conducted externally, which requires bulky and expensive optical components, manipulation of the beam polarization is achieved by directly integrating the polarizer on the laser facet. This compact solution is applicable to semiconductor lasers and other solid-state lasers, all the way from communication wavelengths to the mid-infrared and Terahertz spectrum”.
Light sources with a desirable polarization state are useful for a wide variety of applications. For example, satellite communications use two orthogonal polarizations to double the capacity of the channel; circularly-polarized light sources are necessary to detect certain bimolecular; and laser sources with a variety of polarization states have relevance for quantum cryptography.
To achieve the results, the researchers sculpted a metallic structure, dubbed a plasmatic polarizer directly on the facet of a quantum cascade (QC) laser. The QC laser emitted at a wavelength of ten microns (in the invisible part of the spectrum known as the mid-infrared where the atmosphere is transparent). The team was able to control the state of polarization by generating both linearly polarized light along an arbitrary direction and circularly polarized light.

With all of the economic problems that have beset our country over the past year, why in the world would anyone want to consider cosmetic surgery? It may surprise you to learn that many people are doing cosmetic surgery today, and doing it for economic reasons! Although it may be the worst of times in some ways, there may be no better time to do surgery!! Why, you may ask?
First of all, price reductions abound in the marketplace and cosmetic surgery procedures are no different. With demand for surgery down, the cost of surgery has also dropped. Procedures are going for as little as 70% of their asking price of a few years back, and these surgeries are being done by reputable plastic surgeons. If you have a bit of extra cash stashed away, you can have your pick of surgeons and can almost name your price. That almost certainly won’t be the case in another year or two when the much anticipated economic recovery begins to kick in.
Secondly, people are having trouble finding jobs, and with the unemployment rate nearing 20% in cities like Los Angeles, that’s a lot of folks with résumés in hand, scurrying about and trying to impress potential employers with their abilities and their energy. Ability is something that can be determined from reference letters, exam results, and GPA’s. Energy, however, is something which is “felt.” Does the employer “feel” that the applicant exudes energy, vitality, vivacity? To make that determination, appearance becomes an all important factor. Bags beneath the eyes, hooded upper lids, sagging brows, loose skin beneath the neck, and worry lines between the brows all vote against the applicant. That’s when the knowledgeable applicant turns to the plastic surgeon. Your plastic surgeon can help with Botox and indictable, but sagging brows, hooded upper lids, and sagging neck skin require more assistance than these offer.
We are not talking about Thread lifts which caught the media’s eye several years ago but which have been an expensive disappointment because of their nonexistent longevity. We are also not talking about laser skin tightening procedures such as Thermage, which all too often yield results which cannot be distinguished from the person’s appearance before laser treatment. We are talking a lesser version of a genuine face/neck lift, but with less anesthesia required for surgery, less discomfort and complications, and a more rapid recovery than the garden variety of face/neck lift procedures. As far as the longevity of the procedure goes, the originators of the MACS-Lift have written articles which show every bit as long lasting of a result as traditional facelifts, that being 10 or 15 years in most instances.
So with the economy in a temporary slump and with the job market being so very competitive, you may be wise to take advantage of plastic surgery bargains. In so doing, you can put on a more refreshed look that may help land you that job which seems so out of reach at present. It may be the worst of times for some, but a wise job applicant can, with plastic surgery, turn back the clock, making it the best of times for them.
