Friday, January 12th, 2007

Being in perfect shape is not only important to present yourself
fashionably but it is also substantial to maintain a healthy body. An
ideal body weight is a sort of life insurance that offers good
protection against many diseases. Physical ailments such as heart
disease, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis and vascular disease can be
controlled with proper diet and weight control program. Obesity can
aggravate these medical problems while maintaining an ideal weight can
not only protect against these diseases but also reverse the process.

An obese person should not adopt fad diet and drugs to reach an
ideal weight as such a step can be dangerous. Drastic diet schedules
sometime prove to be more dangerous than the problem they are seeking
to recover. Appropriate weight should be reached by means of a proper
medically proven program. Following a rational diet program that
becomes a part of an individual’s behavior is a perfect solution to
loose weight otherwise the lost weight is regained as soon as the
previous eating habits are resumed.

Tumescent Liposuction is the safest way towards a slim trim figure

Monday, January 8th, 2007

Liposuction is a remarkably safe procedure with a short recovery
period and trims the body of unwanted fat. It can effectively remove
fat deposits from all areas of the body.

Advantages of Pure Tumescent Lipsuction:

  • Extremely safe with no deaths and far fewer
complications than general anesthesia when strict tumescent guidelines
are followed. (Fat removal is limited to four liters and the amount of
local anesthesia and fluid used is limited).
  • Faster healing with decreased bleeding and bruising. Patients are able to return to work in two days.
  • Patients
are not limited to strict bed rest after surgery, which reduces the
risk of clot formation in legs. The doctors encourage patients to take
a one to two mile walk the next day and return to work in two days.
  • More pure fat removal with less bruising, leading to better results.
  • Patient
being awake and able to move in certain positions allows surgeon to
more efficiently get to fat at correct angles. Additionally, patient
movement during surgery reduces the risk of clot formation.

Cosmetic Surgery Tourism is Gaining Popularity throughout the World

Saturday, January 6th, 2007

In lieu of finding an inexpensive cosmetic surgery treatment
individuals in America are being attracted towards near by countries
that offer cosmetic surgery at lower costs. Prior to finalizing any
cosmetic surgery enhancement it is important to make informed choices.
Greater level of knowledge and homework is required when considering an
overseas treatment. But opting for quick and cheap makeovers can
sometimes prove to be more costly in the long run if quality is being
compromised for a price.

Many a times instead of returning happily from overseas after a
successful cosmetic surgery procedure individuals often come back
suffering and complaining about some post- surgical complications.
Places such as Thailand and Philippines offer best cheap cosmetic
surgery procedures and being also a favorite holiday destination lot of
people choose these places as their cosmetic surgery tourism venue. But
there is not always a happy ending to these procedures, individuals
often come back with infections and in worst cases with serious
complications including even open surgical wounds. Hence tremendous
caution is inevitable when contemplating tourism for a cosmetic
makeover.

FotoFacial RF is a Great Way to Repair Facial Imperfections

Saturday, January 6th, 2007

Fotofacial stands as a golden method for attaining beauty at the
speed of light. It is an effective tool to treat sun damaged skin,
wrinkles, small blood vessels, Rosacea and brown spots. Intense Pulsed
Light and Radio Frequency can together treat variety of skin problems
by directly acting on the dermis initiate skin repair. Micro- injuries
are caused at the lower level of the skin where RF energy is targeted.
These injuries are repaired through the production of new collagen,
which is an anti- wrinkle part of the process. Over a series of
treatment, the collagen produced repairs textural irregularities very
effectively.

Undergoing microdermabrasion prior to FotoFacial is desirable to
prepare the skin for increasing the effectiveness of the treatment.
Microdermabrasion process removes dead layers of the skin and hence
allows better penetration of FotoFacial RF. Candidates undergoing
FotoFacial should not have any tanning since pigments can absorb pulsed
light and can lead to burns. Tanning on the target area should fade
away at least 2 weeks before treatment and must also be avoided for at
least some weeks after the therapy.

Incompetent Cosmetic Surgeons are Trivializing Plastic Surgery

Saturday, January 6th, 2007

The obsession among people regarding cosmetic surgery has grown to
such an extent that the actual plastic surgeons work is now under
threat. Many unsuitable and unqualified doctors have recently jumped
into cosmetic surgery profession making it a risky affair. The real
qualified surgeons are now left with only the work of repairing the
damage done by incompetent cosmetic practitioners.

Plastic surgery in itself is medical process related with a
specialized branch of surgery that deals with correcting physical
deformities. These bodily deformities can be in-born or resulted from
accidents or aging. Plastic surgery is performed on them to restore and
enhance form and function of the concerned body part. Plastic surgery
is broadly categorized into reconstructive or cosmetic surgery but both
these terms are often interlinked as reconstructive surgery frequently
involves a cosmetic aspect and cosmetic surgery has usually a
reconstructive approach. Another definition for reconstructive surgery
says that it as a process to restore the individual to its normal shape
while cosmetic surgery is an attempt to enhance the present normal
condition.

Teenage Plastic Surgery to be banned Under Proposed Laws

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

TEENAGERS face bans on Botox, collagen injections and vanity plastic
surgery under proposed laws aimed at reining in the growing cosmetic
surgery industry. New regulations would make it more difficult for
people under 18 to have purely cosmetic procedures. This comes after
concerns were raised over Big Brother contestant Krystal
Forscutt, 20, promoting her breast-enhancement surgery. The proposals
also follow instances of people as young as 15 going to clinics and
requesting "Jessica Simpson" noses, breast implants, liposuction and
Botox and collagen injections.

A spokesman for Health Minister Bronwyn Pike said that yesterday
Victoria would consider adopting tough new measures. It is proposed
teenagers must have a referral from a GP before seeing a plastic
surgeon — and must also have counselling. Surgeons would require
parents’ consent and would be forced to offer a one-month cooling-off
period before a procedure. Victoria’s Health Services Commissioner,
Beth Wilson, said patients were being put at risk by unqualified
general practitioners performing cosmetic surgery.
