Botox Injections Might Cause Certain Risks and Complications
Though Botox is among the safest cosmetic surgery procedures certain rare side effects like bruising, drooping of eyelids and asymmetry caused by one side being different than the other. Among other risks involved when undertaking Botox injection includes dry eyes, pain during injections, double vision or inability to close eye completely. The only good news is that these effects are temporary and gets cured with time.
The injection does not last very long and its effect passes away after some months. Also there is a theoretical risk of being infected by undiscovered agents. Wrinkles caused by excess skin or gravity induced tissue sagging cannot be treated by Botox. The injection is not very suitable for elderly patients as they have high static component, which does not react to Botox. For these wrinkles which have significant static component other cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels or laser resurfacing should be practiced. The results are dramatic and cause notable improvement on the face.
