Medical Spas: Boston – Nurse Raises Questions
Medical spas are emerging from every corner of the city. These spas claim to provide various services related to medical professions like laser hair removal, Botox and collagen injections. These usually employ nurses to carry out such duties that are basically a medical practitioners job. Though there are few strong enough people to raise voice against illegal practices that are being carried out here. Fortunately a nurse who was being trained to perform similar actions raised voice against unauthorized services being offered by medical spas.
She brought to notice that medications like collagen and Restylane that has been restricted by Board of Registration in Nursing to be injected by nurses are being delegated to nurses for injecting. She raised a voice against popular practice of advertising that the doctors were always available contrary to the actual situation that doctors were usually not within the premises. Her concern was to ensure safety for patients incase there were any allergic reaction as a result of an injection.
