Hypertrichosis Treated by Laser Hair Removal

Apart from beauty purposes laser hair removal is also used to cure medical disorders related to extensive unwanted hair growth known as hypertrichosis in medical terminology. Hirsuitism might occur due to genetic reasons, medications, malnutrition, tumors, metabolic problems or certain medications. Lasers offer permanent solution for such problems and are best suited to treat such unruliness. Until the invention of this technique all temporary methods implied to treat patients could not impart complete cure and patient satisfaction.
Recently a successful treatment of a patient suffering from Hypertrichosis of the pinna and external auditory canal was carried out and resulted in excellent recovery. Such disorders commonly occur in older males and cause a great amount of trouble in hearing and normal living. Treating the patient with alexandrite laser produced about 85%. excellent long term hair reduction.
